About Zoë

Zoë Nicol is a singer/songwriter from Kent with Liverpudlian and Irish roots now based in Liverpool, most known for her work with Worry Dolls: A duo who performed alongside the likes of Robert Plant and Mumford & Sons, were nominated for single of the year at the AMA Awards and awarded The Drake YolanDa Award. The duo performed as part of Bob Harris’ Under The Apple Tree sessions and played the main stage at Cambridge Folk Festival.

Following her debut solo album in 2010, Zoe released a second solo album, Start with Me, in 2021, inspired by her interest in the environment and sustainability. In September 2023, she released her third solo album, Truly, featuring three songs by Worry Dolls and collaborators: John Hadley (Dixie Chicks), Dave Olney (Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris) and Beth Nielsen Chapman (Faith Hill). In September 2025, to mark the 10th anniversary of Worry Dolls’ debut album Go Get Gone, the duo performed a special one-off sold out show with solo performances at Green Note, London. Zoë is currently working on a new music release with Rich Bond (Wise Tree Studio) in Liverpool.

“A fine performer whether under the Worry Doll banner or under her own name” – Chris Farlie, W21Music
